HAMPTON, Va. (Jan. 6) — The Arena Racing Hampton Roads Pro Series hits the halfway mark of its 2009-10 campaign this Sunday, Jan. 10, as teams roll back into the Hampton Coliseum for the eighth meet on the 15-event schedule.
Sunday’s race lineup includes A, B and C Mains for the Pro Series — 50 laps each. The day’s grand finale, the 50-lap Top Dog race, features the top six finishers from the A Main and the top four finishers from the B and C Mains. The season’s second Youth Series contest is slotted between the A Main and Top Dog races.
Doors open at 3:00 p.m. for the pre-race pit party — an excellent opportunity to meet the drivers and get an up-close look at the cars. The racing program gets under way at 4, following opening ceremonies. Drivers will also be available to meet fans on the concourse at the conclusion of the Top Dog feature.
All tickets for Sunday’s event are just $5. Kids under 3 are admitted free when accompanied by an adult. Tickets are available at the Coliseum Box Office, TicketMaster locations and online at . A service fee will be added to each ticket purchase.

While his checkered flag collection may not approach the 12 he piled up during the 2007-08 season, Scott Prillaman is building a solid resume of steady performances that may lead to his second $10,000 series championship.
Through seven events, Prillaman has been a mainstay in the A Main and Top Dog races. His A Main record shows two victories and four more top-four finishes. In Top Dog competition, he has posted five runner-up outings.
In the current standings, Prillaman holds an 18-point edge over defending series champ Adam Florian and Spencer Saunders, last weekend’s Top Dog winner.
